Exhibition Booking: Ghost Words

Book your free tickets here to visit Ghost words: Reading the past, in the Milstein Exhibition Centre at Cambridge University Library.

We have some additional safety measures for those visiting our exhibitions. Please read the following before booking your tickets:

  • Entry to the exhibition is via timed, pre-booked tickets only
  • Tickets are for a visit time of 45minutes
  • Each session is limited to 5 visitors. Your session may include people from other bookings.
  • Visitors must wear a face covering when entering the building
  • Visitors must follow the one-way route through the exhibition, and stay at least 2 metres from other visitors not in your bubble.

Please note: Government guidelines now state that face coverings should be worn in libraries and public reading rooms. We therefore ask visitors to Cambridge University Libraries to wear a face covering in all areas of our libraries to keep everyone safe. We are highly sensitive and supportive to anyone exempt from the expectation. Please visit the University’s Coronavirus Information pages for a helpful list of medical exemptions.

Data Protection and Test and Trace

In addition to collecting contact details as part of our normal booking process, in line with guidance from the Department for Health and Social Care, we will ask you for your phone number and record the times of your visit in order to reduce the risk of a local outbreak of coronavirus. We will keep these details for 21 days. All personal data will be held in accordance with the Library’s privacy policy and with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We will share your contact details with NHS Test and Trace, if asked, in the event of a fellow user or staff member testing positive for coronavirus. NHS Test and Trace will handle all data according to the highest ethical and security standards and ensure it is used only for the purposes of protecting public health, including minimising the transmission of COVID-19.

Before visiting the University Library, you are asked to read and agree to abide by the following addendum to Cambridge University Libraries Code of Conduct: Our Code of Conduct sets out what you can expect from our services and how we support you. The principles stated in this document remain valid during the current Covid-19 pandemic. However, please note that we are following Government and University guidelines and some of our services and facilities have been adapted to ensure your safety and that of our staff. We will guide you through these changes when you visit. Should you feel ill or suspect you may be ill, please do not come to the Library. If in doubt, we ask you to err on the side of caution and cancel any bookings you have made. We reserve the right to ask you to leave or refuse you entry if we suspect you are displaying symptoms.
